Al-Ameen Entrepreneurship EXPO 2023 was organized on 28th Dec 2023. This is a unique partnership platform to promote entrepreneurship ecosystem building at Al-Ameen. The EXPO which is now an annual event provides an interactive space for collaboration, ideas generation, capacity building, business development, showcase talent, network with like-minded individuals, and gain valuable insights to propel their ideas/ventures forward.
The Inauguration commenced with recital of Qirath. Dr. P Sartaj Khan, Principal, Al-Ameen Arts, Science & Commerce College welcomed the guests & invitees.
Mr. S. A. Hussain, Chairman, Insight Educational Trust, Bangalore was the Chief Guest. He spoke on the importance of education & teachers in Indian Culture & Islamic Culture. He said that institutions are built by Human Resource and not just by infrastructure and that Human Resource is the biggest strength of any institution. India is a Super Power in HR since Indians are spread across the globe in every vertical, in ever organization and this he said is an achievement. He fondly remembered Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister and his contribution to education in India. He said that Education is the key to success and advised the students to read, understand, practice & evolve to be an Entrepreneur. He said that India needs to invest in Entrepreneurship in order to create jobs & employment since a large section of Indian society is still facing unemployment. Being a Water Conservation Activist he also apprised the gathering about Water Satyagrah, a movement which has accelerated in 2023 since a large section of the society is still deprived of clean drinking water. He also spoke about the damage, packaged drinking water has on the ecology and human body.
Mr. Mohiuddeen M K S, President, Global Islamic Chamber of Trade & Commerce (GICTC), Kuwait Chapter, Key note speaker shared inspiring success stories of Entrepreneurs and asked the students to work hard, be committed & passionate and cash on opportunities to achieve goals because there is no short cut to success. He offered the students of Al-Ameen all possible support, encouragement & mentorship through GICTC.
During the virtual session, Mr. Abdulla Hassan Thakur, Founder, GICTC spoke about his vision in setting up GICTC earlier this year in July with Entrepreneurship & Career Planning as a focal area in order to bridge the gap between rich & poor, developed & underdeveloped and create an inclusive society through development & growth as a way forward for a democratic ecosystem. He said that Muslims across the world form the 3rd largest economy and so there is a dire need to network & collaborate to work towards a more resilient society. He asked the students to develop a strong habit to study, manage time, organize ones activities, be honest, explore interest & passion that are productive, monitor success regularly and turn challenges into opportunities.
The event engaged the Hon. Secretary, Mr. Zubair Anwar as Guest of Honour, EC Members, Mr. Zaffar Ulla Khan & Mr. Mohammed Fazil Hussain and a number of experts & social workers to discuss about digital marketing; financing; e-commerce and crowd funding; gender responsive procurement; green economy, pitching, latest trends, strategies, and tools to accelerate one’s business with our young budding students.
The Chairman, Mr. Umar Ismail Khan in his presidential address appreciated the efforts of the principals & staff in steering Al-Ameen to new heights. He desired to see each & every student of Al-Ameen achieve success and this he said can be accomplished through hard work, discipline, faith in God, good character & good values, by being humble since Allah hates arrogance, cashing on every opportunity, getting inspired, being in the company of good people who will always guide you in the right direction & facilitate invaluable connections that can take your success journey to new heights. He asked the students to listen to the success stories of those who have overcome challenges and achieved remarkable goals in their entrepreneurial journey. Be inspired by their resilience, determination, and unwavering dedication he said. He pointed out that Al-Ameen is a secular institution where merit is encouraged and we have provided annual scholarships to the tune of Rupees 2 crores to deserving students of Karnataka. He said that as an encouragement towards sports they have revived football and taken up Bangalore Muslims Sports Club and so far organized 4 tournaments this year. He appreciated the good work done by GICTC and welcomed a tie up with them in the near future. He thanked & appreciated each & every expert and social worker who was present on the occasion.
The inauguration was followed by a one day venture, where our budding students opened stalls to exhibit their entrepreneurial skills, create & refine ideas/plans, build confidence, gather inspiration and bring more students into their value chain. It was a fun filled and enriching experience for our students.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Md. Salahuddin, Principal, Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy who profusely thanked the guests for their inspiring talk and words of encouragement. He asked the students to sharpen and develop their skills and open their horizon to start ups especially since the government is keen on encouraging entrepreneurship. He was all praises for the staff and students for making the event a grand success.
